Rivers: My Enemies Used Fubara to Fight Me – Wike

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), recently said that some people who don’t support him have used Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara to fight against him. This claim was made during an interview on Monday.

Wike, who was the governor of Rivers State for eight years, helped Fubara become the new governor. Despite this, Wike now feels that Fubara is being used by his enemies to challenge him.

At a press briefing in Abuja, Wike talked about Fubara’s methods and said he has not yet met other important leaders in Rivers State. He seems concerned about how things are going in his home state.

Wike also shared that since they met in Abuja, he has not had any further meetings with the suspended governor. This shows that there may be some distance growing between them.

Wike’s comments highlight some political tension in Rivers State as the former and current governors navigate their roles.

He said: “This was somebody who gave you food and everything, then you became a tool for his enemies to fight him.

“We are all human, when people say there should be peace – yes, nobody said there should be no peace – how do you feel when you know what you passed through by sending your son to school, to make him be a human being – all of a sudden, your son game with people with guns to shoot you. Is this something that will just go like that from your mind?

“You made your son, you gave your son good education, provided food, you made sure he didn’t lack, ready to sacrifice everything you had for him, yet in the night he brought armed robbers – your time is up – and somehow God helped you, you didn’t die.

“People brought him to beg you, he is your son – I agree.”
