Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, and Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed have all gathered in Abuja for a major political meeting.

The meeting is taking place at the Continental Hotel in Abuja and is part of an event called the National Political Consultative Group, North.

Many believe the meeting is part of ongoing efforts to form a coalition that can challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

There are reports suggesting that Atiku may pick Peter Obi as his running mate for the 2027 election. However, no clear decision has been made yet on which political party the group will use to contest.

In a video that went viral, Peter Obi said he plans to run for president again in 2027 under the Labour Party.
