Serie A provides drama in title race as EPL clubs scramble for Champions League spots

Before the final matches, Napoli had a narrow one-point lead over Inter Milan.

Both teams won their games 2-0, and Inter Milan were crowned champions in front of their home fans.

Unlike other European leagues that ended early, Serie A gave fans a real title race that lasted until the very end.

Adava Oluwagbenga, a broadcaster from Midas Radio 90.5 FM, said it was a dramatic finish.

He talked about how last week’s matches were very tense. Inter Milan had a 2-2 draw with Lazio, and Napoli drew 0-0 with Parma.

During both games, VAR cancelled a goal and a penalty for each of the two top teams.

In the end, the team that stayed consistent throughout the season came out on top.

Adava praised Antonio Conte and his coaching team for doing a fantastic job.

He mentioned how amazing it was for Inter to win the league even after losing two key players from last season. Especially considering they finished in 10th place just a year ago. This shows how much coaching can make a difference.

Everyone expected Inter Milan and Juventus to fight for the title, but Napoli surprised many by staying in the race until the end.

In other major leagues like France and Germany, the title race ended weeks ago.

Adava said he doesn’t mind if leagues finish early, especially in a long season with 38 matches.

He explained that every team starts the season under the same conditions.

All teams deal with the same challenges—like match officials, VAR, injuries, changes in form, and competing in other tournaments.

He believes you can’t win a league by luck. It takes steady performance every week.

So, if a team wins before the final match day, it’s because they worked hard all season.

The English Premier League is still offering some excitement.

Even though the champions and relegated teams are already known, there’s still a fight going on for the final Champions League spots.

Liverpool and Arsenal have already secured the top two places. Newcastle, Manchester City, Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest are still in the battle for the remaining three.

Adava said that neutral fans are hoping for an exciting finish.

One key game is Nottingham Forest, who are on 65 points, playing Chelsea, who are on 66 points. A win for Forest would move them to 68 points and into a Champions League spot.

Aston Villa, who also have 66 points, will face Manchester United, a team that doesn’t have much to play for now.

Adava believes that if Villa wins and Forest beats Chelsea, Chelsea might miss out on a Champions League place. But we’ll have to wait and see how it all ends.
