EPL: Nottingham Forest boss provides positive injury update on Awoniyi

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has given fans something to smile about with a positive update on striker Taiwo Awoniyi.

Awoniyi was injured during a 2-2 home match against Leicester City when he accidentally hit the goalpost. It was a painful moment that led to him needing surgery.

Because of the injury, he has been ruled out for the rest of the season. Many fans were worried about how serious it was.

Ahead of Forest’s big game at home against Chelsea this weekend, Nuno shared some encouraging news. He said Awoniyi is recovering well and making good progress.

“He is doing much better now. He’s already walking and the doctors said he’s starting to return to normal activities with his foot,” Nuno explained.

It has been a difficult season for the 27-year-old, who has struggled with several injuries. Meanwhile, Chris Wood has stepped up and taken a more active role in the team’s attack.

Still, fans will be happy to hear that Awoniyi is on the road to recovery and may come back stronger next season.
