Europa League final: I played 20 minutes – Garnacho hits Amorim after Man Utd defeat

Alejandro Garnacho, a winger for Manchester United, has expressed his frustration with manager Ruben Amorim after the team’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final on Wednesday.

After the match, Garnacho spoke with the Argentine media and shared his disappointment with the manager’s team selection for the final.

He was especially upset because he only played for 20 minutes in the final match, even though he had taken part in every round leading up to it and helped the team reach that stage.

According to DAILY POST, the winning goal came in the first half, when Brennan Johnson scored for Tottenham in Bilbao. The goal secured Spurs their first trophy in 17 years.

Garnacho did not start the final. Amorim instead chose to play Mason Mount and Amad Diallo behind Rasmus Hojlund in the attacking positions, leaving Garnacho on the bench.

Speaking after the game to Metro UK, Garnacho said this season was very tough for everyone. He mentioned the disappointment of losing the final and how the team struggled in the league as well.

He added that the team lacked many important elements and struggled to score goals. Garnacho emphasized that he had supported the team in every stage of the tournament, so playing only 20 minutes in the final left him confused and frustrated.
