A serious road accident happened on Monday evening along the Kugbo-Nyanya expressway in Abuja. The police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) confirmed the incident.
The crash happened just a day after another deadly accident took place at the same location, raising concerns about safety on the road.
According to the FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the accident involved a truck owned by Dangote. The truck’s number plate is KPF 305 XA.
She explained that the truck, driven by Isa Salisu, lost control after its brakes failed. It then crashed into a dispatch rider and a J5 bus with plate number WAM 45 XA.
Even though some early reports said people might have died, the police confirmed that only three people were seriously injured.
One of the victims was taken to Asokoro District Hospital, while the other two were taken to Nyanya General Hospital for treatment.
The police have towed all the damaged vehicles to the station for further investigation into what happened.
They also used the moment to warn drivers to check their vehicles regularly and always obey traffic rules to avoid accidents like this in the future.
