FG launches new citizenship and business processing digital platform

The Nigerian government has introduced a new online system to make it easier for people to apply for citizenship and business-related services. This new digital platform is designed to simplify the process and reduce the time it takes to complete applications.

On May 17, Magdalene Ajani, the permanent secretary at the Ministry of Interior, said the platform is part of ongoing reforms. These reforms aim to increase transparency, improve how the ministry works, and provide better services to the public.

Ajani explained that the new platform will help deliver faster results and give users a smoother experience. People and companies can access the system through the Ministry of Interior’s official website at interior.gov.ng or directly by visiting candb.interior.gov.ng. For any questions or support, users can reach out by emailing candb-support@interior.gov.ng.

She also emphasized the ministry’s commitment to creating a more efficient and secure way to manage citizenship services. The government plans to keep using digital technology to improve how they serve the public.

This new platform is not the only digital step the Ministry of Interior has taken. In February, the Interior Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced plans to introduce digital landing and exit cards for visitors arriving in Nigeria. These forms must be completed before entry to help make border control smoother.

Tunji-Ojo also highlighted the need to connect Nigeria’s immigration data with both national and international databases. This connection will improve security by making sure all approvals are checked in real time through agencies like Interpol and criminal record systems.

Overall, these digital changes are aimed at making Nigeria’s citizenship and immigration services more modern, safe, and easy to use for everyone.
