American music star Chris Brown has been taken into custody in the UK over an assault accusation.
A court in Manchester made the decision to keep him in custody after a hearing on Friday. The judge, Joanne Hirst, refused to give him bail.
She also said the case was too serious for the Magistrates’ Court and has now moved it to the Southwark Crown Court in London.
The case will be heard again on June 13, 2025.
Reports say that Chris Brown was arrested on Thursday at The Lowry Hotel in Salford. He was taken in over an incident that happened at Tape nightclub in Mayfair.
In that incident, Brown is accused of hitting a music executive named Abe Diaw with a bottle in 2023.
As a result, Brown is facing a charge of causing serious injury. Diaw has also filed a lawsuit against him, asking for $16 million in damages for the injuries and other losses he claims to have suffered.
