Reno Omokri, a popular Nigerian social media personality and political commentator, said his Facebook page was taken down for a short time. He claimed that supporters of Peter Obi, known as Obidients, reported his page after he posted content about Obi.
In a video posted on Facebook, Reno said the Obidients accused him of lying about Peter Obi. According to him, this happened after he talked about what he believed were false claims made by Obi about electricity in Tanzania.
Reno said that Peter Obi claimed Tanzania had so much electricity that they had to shut down their dams. Obi compared this to Nigeria, saying it was sad that Nigeria wasn’t doing as well. But Reno disagreed strongly with Obi’s statement and said it was completely false.
He explained that he backed up his points with facts, and Facebook eventually restored his page. Reno said he didn’t lie and that he only corrected false information.
Reno Omokri is known for supporting President Bola Tinubu after the 2023 presidential election. He is also one of Peter Obi’s strongest critics. He has even said that Obi will never become Nigeria’s president, which has caused frequent clashes between him and the Obidient movement.
