LaLiga: Lamine Yamal equals Cristiano Ronaldo’s title record

Seventeen-year-old football sensation Lamine Yamal has now matched the number of La Liga titles won by Cristiano Ronaldo. This is a huge achievement for the young Barcelona player.

Yamal played a big part in Barcelona’s recent 2-0 win over their city rivals Espanyol. He scored one goal and assisted another to help the team secure their 28th league title. This victory also completed a domestic treble for Barcelona under their new coach, Hansi Flick.

Even though Yamal was hoping for a UEFA Champions League title this season, that dream ended when Barcelona lost in the semifinals. Still, his overall performance this season has been nothing short of amazing.

Because of his great form, many football fans and experts now consider Yamal a top candidate for this year’s Ballon d’Or award. He has shown great skill, maturity, and consistency throughout the season.

This latest league win gives Yamal his second La Liga title with Barcelona. Interestingly, Cristiano Ronaldo also won just two La Liga titles during his entire time at Real Madrid.

Ronaldo’s low title count shows how strong Barcelona were during his time in Spain. The Portuguese star lost the league to Barcelona six times and to Atletico Madrid once.

Now, at only 17, Yamal has already reached a level that puts him alongside one of football’s greatest players. He’s the first player ever to win two La Liga titles before turning 18.

Besides the La Liga trophies, Yamal has already collected several honors. These include the European Championship, Spanish Super Cup, Copa del Rey, Best Young Player at EURO 2024, and the 2024 Kopa Trophy.

With Flick’s guidance, Barcelona completed a historic domestic treble. It was also the club’s ninth time winning a domestic double, proving their dominance once again.
