Barcelona’s rising star, Lamine Yamal, has shared his thoughts on who he believes is the best football player in history.

The young winger made the statement after playing a big role in Barcelona’s 2024/25 La Liga title win on Thursday.

Yamal and teammate Fermin Lopez each scored a goal, helping Barcelona claim a 2-0 win over Espanyol in their latest match.

Thanks to this important win, Barcelona secured the La Liga title, staying ahead of their long-time rivals, Real Madrid.

After the game, Yamal praised Lionel Messi, who now plays for Inter Miami. He said Messi is the best footballer the sport has ever seen.

Even though Yamal is showing great talent, he made it clear that he doesn’t compare himself to Messi.

“I’d never compare me with Messi… Leo is the best player ever,” Yamal said, as quoted by football reporter Fabrizio Romano.
