The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has asked Chief Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, to come in for questioning. Tompolo is a well-known former militant leader from the Niger Delta region.

The EFCC wants to speak with him about reports that he may have misused the Nigerian currency (naira) and may have been involved in some financial misconduct. These are still just allegations at this stage.

According to sources within the EFCC, the agency sent an invitation letter to Tompolo earlier this week. The letter was delivered, and now the EFCC is waiting for his reply.

One EFCC officer explained that the invitation is just a normal step in their process. It is not an arrest warrant. The officer also said that they expect Tompolo to cooperate with their investigation.

This invitation comes after a video appeared online showing possible naira abuse. In response to the video, the EFCC reminded the public that no one is above the law, no matter who they are.
