BREAKING: Osun Assembly endorses Gov Adeleke for second term

In a strong show of support, the Osun State House of Assembly has endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial elections. The motion for this vote of confidence was unanimously passed during a plenary session, where all members expressed their backing for the governor.

The motion was brought forward by Adewumi Adeyemi, who represents the Obokun State Constituency, and was seconded by Taofiq Olayiwola from the Ede South State Constituency. This endorsement came as the Assembly reaffirmed its full commitment to the governor’s leadership.

During the session, Speaker Adewale Egbedun took a moment to recognize Governor Adeleke’s leadership, especially on the occasion of his 65th birthday. He praised the governor for his tireless efforts in advancing the development of Osun State, emphasizing his dedication to his five-point agenda, which has greatly impacted the state.

Speaker Egbedun also urged the governor to keep pushing for even greater accomplishments, noting that the lawmakers took pride in his leadership. As representatives of the people, they were fully confident in his ability to continue leading the state forward.

Adding to the praise, Simeon Popoola, the representative from the Boripe-Boluwaduro State Constituency, delivered a heartfelt tribute to Governor Adeleke. He described him as a person of great integrity and genuine nature, qualities that have contributed significantly to his performance as governor. Popoola highlighted the governor’s sincerity, saying that beyond politics, Adeleke’s kindness and authenticity have made him a successful leader.

After the motion was introduced, a vote was held, and the Assembly’s decision to endorse Governor Adeleke was officially upheld. With this backing, the governor has strong support as he looks ahead to the next election.
