A Facebook post sparked a thought-provoking conversation about how society judges second wives. The post questioned why second wives are criticized when some prominent biblical figures, such as King David’s heir, Solomon, and Joseph, the son of Jacob, were born to men with multiple wives.
Solomon wasn’t the son of David’s first wife, and Joseph was the child of Jacob’s second wife. The post pointed out that if God had issues with these marriages, He wouldn’t have made the sons of these women significant in the genealogy of Jesus. The author of the post invited others to join the discussion with Bible references, while encouraging a respectful exchange of ideas, without any hostility
In a separate news story, President Donald Trump responded to criticism after the royal family of Qatar offered him a luxurious $400 million jet to temporarily replace Air Force One. This offer came after delays in the delivery of planes Trump had ordered from Boeing. The Qatar offer was seen as a temporary solution for the aging Air Force One fleet.
Trump took to his Truth Social platform to clarify his position on the offer. He seemed to suggest that accepting the jet would be a good deal for the US, as it would be a free gift to the Defense Department, replacing the old Air Force One.
He criticized Democrats for opposing the decision, arguing that they were upset about getting a jet at no cost and instead wanted the government to spend top dollar on a new one.
Ali Al-Ansari, the media attaché for Qatar, confirmed that the possibility of transferring the Boeing 747-8 jet to the US government for use as Air Force One was still being considered. However, both the Qatar Ministry of Defense and the US Department of Defense were still reviewing the legal aspects of the deal, and no final decision had been made yet
