EPL: Carragher reveals when Arsenal could sack Arteta

Jamie Carragher, the former Liverpool player, has shared his thoughts on Mikel Arteta’s future as the Arsenal manager. He believes the club’s board could decide to fire Arteta next season if the team doesn’t secure a major trophy.

Arsenal is heading towards another trophyless season, marking five years in a row without any silverware. Under Arteta, the team lost the Premier League title to Liverpool and was eliminated from the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain.

The team also failed to reach the finals of the Carabao Cup, where they were knocked out by Newcastle in the semi-finals. Additionally, their FA Cup run ended early in the third round, with a loss to Manchester United.

After Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Liverpool, Carragher spoke on Sky Sports, saying that this season felt like the one when Arsenal should have won something. However, he also pointed out that next season, Arteta will face a lot of pressure to win big.

Carragher emphasized that if Arsenal doesn’t win a major trophy, many people will start questioning whether Arteta can take the team to the next level. He noted that the club’s board would face significant pressure, with many fans and critics asking why they would continue with a manager who has not won a trophy in five or six years.
