Ganduje, others may soon return to PDP – Sule Lamido

Sule Lamido, a former governor, has predicted that Abdullahi Ganduje, the current National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), will likely return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) soon. Lamido believes this will happen as the APC faces an imminent split into factions.

Lamido made these comments at a PDP congress held at the Aminu Kano Triangle in Jigawa. He acknowledged that several prominent figures had recently switched from the PDP to the APC. Among them were former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who brought all Delta State lawmakers with him.

Despite these defections, Lamido urged PDP members to remain hopeful. He explained that many of those who left the party did so because they feared intimidation. He expressed confidence that these defectors, including Ganduje, would eventually return to the PDP.

Lamido predicted that within six months, those who joined the APC would come back, and the PDP would rise again, ready to contest for power in 2027.

In addition to his comments on defections, Lamido also addressed broader concerns about Nigeria’s governance. He pointed out that although the country is blessed with resources, the leadership often fails to deliver.

He cautioned the current government to stop intimidating the opposition, warning that this could lead to further instability in the nation.
