A Nigerian woman living in Germany has shared a heartbreaking story about how the German authorities took her two young sons away from her. She posted a video on TikTok to speak out about the situation.
Adenike Obaoye, who lives in Germany, said the German court refused to return her children, Noah and David, even though they are not German citizens. She explained that the boys were born in August 2021 and July 2022.
In her video, she said that the Berlin-Kreuzberg Family Court would not let her take her children back to Nigeria. She added that the judge handling the case was a woman, and she refused her request to travel with the children.
Adenike stressed that her sons are Nigerians and do not hold German passports. She said, “Germany refused to release children who are not their citizens. This is wrong and goes against both the children’s rights and my rights as their mother.”
The woman also mentioned that she is a single mother and has full legal custody of both children. She believes that Germany is trying to keep children who are not even their citizens, which she sees as unfair.
In a report by PUNCH Diaspora Tales, it was said that Adenike believes the German authorities are trying to take her children by force, something she called “state kidnapping.”
Even though she is facing a tough battle, Adenike said she will not give up and will continue to fight for justice.
The news reporters tried to get more details from her about why the court took her children, but she did not reply to their messages at the time they were writing the report.
