Controversial Nigerian singer Portable recently accused First Bank of attempting to kidnap him. In a viral video shared on his Instagram, Portable claimed that during a visit to one of the bank’s branches, he was nearly kidnapped.
The singer, known for his dramatic style, stated that the only thing he did was ask why his account had been locked by the bank. He also accused the bank of tracking his movements, which led him to believe that something suspicious was going on. He firmly denied being involved in any illegal activities, including fraud.
In the video, Portable explained that the locked account, which reportedly holds over N400 billion, was for business purposes, not for any fraudulent transactions. He emphasized that he had done nothing wrong by simply asking for clarification on the situation.
Portable also expressed his frustration, saying, “I’m being followed from First Bank and they are trying to kidnap me. I have done nothing wrong. I’m not involved in any scams. The account is for my business, and there is more money coming in.”
This controversy follows a similar incident involving social media personality VeryDarkMan, who was arrested on May 2 after complaining about a bank-related issue at Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB).
