In the first 100 days of President Trump’s return to office, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced major changes led by the General Services Administration (GSA).
On Monday, DOGE shared via their official X account that the GSA had slashed $30 billion from government-wide contracts. In addition to the budget cuts, the agency began key reforms like modernizing tech systems faster, reducing red tape, and merging procurement processes to save more money and boost efficiency.
According to DOGE, these efforts align with President Trump’s vision for a government that works better and costs less. They also mentioned that GSA played a part in drafting five of the President’s Executive Orders, focused on cutting down bureaucracy and removing political bias from federal agencies.
DOGE emphasized that this is just the beginning. “The changes we’re seeing point to a smarter, more responsible government that’s focused on real results,” they stated. “The momentum is real and we’re just getting started.”
Just last week, Trump celebrated 100 days into his new term, calling it the most productive in the country’s history.
At 78 years old, the Republican leader continues to drive what he describes as the most impactful and reform-driven start to any presidency.
