Lawyer Deji Adeyanju has shared fresh details regarding the detention of social commentator, Martins Otse, also known as Very Dark Man (VDM).
In a post on his X account, Adeyanju confirmed that VDM is currently in custody at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He added that although lawyers have traced the location where VDM is being held, the activist has chosen not to meet with anyone.
Adeyanju stated that his legal team, led by Marvin Omorogbe, visited EFCC custody and met with a friend of VDM who was arrested alongside him. However, VDM reportedly refused to leave his cell, saying he would not see anyone. Adeyanju also mentioned that VDM was confined in a GTBank exit door for over five minutes, allowing the EFCC to apprehend him and his friend.
The lawyer described the incident as inhumane and announced plans to take legal action against GTBank for their role in the arrest. He assured the public that a detailed statement would be released soon.
