Popular Nigerian influencer Martins Vincent Otse, who is better known online as VeryDarkMan (VDM), was reportedly taken into custody by police officers in Abuja.

The news of his arrest was shared by his legal representative, Denise Adeyanju, who made the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday.

According to Adeyanju, the arrest happened inside a GTBank branch in Abuja.

In his post, Adeyanju said, “VDM was picked up by the police at GTB. I had a chance to speak with them before the arrest happened. This situation is unacceptable. Speaking out and asking for justice shouldn’t be treated as a crime.”

He later added that VDM was not alone at the time. “The police came for him and his friend, C Park. His mother was with them too, but she was not taken,” Adeyanju noted.
