Nigerian artist Temilade Openiyi, known as Tems, has reached a significant milestone in her career by winning the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award at the 2024 BET Awards last night.
Tems won the award with her song “Me & U,” surpassing well-known artists such as Shirley Caesar with “Award All of the Glory,” Kirk Franklin with “All Things,” Halle Bailey with “Angel,” CeCe Winans with “Come Jesus Come,” Erica Campbell with “Do You Believe in Love?”, and Maverick City Music along with Naomi Raine & Chandler Moore with “God Problems.” Kirk Franklin was also nominated for his song “Try Love.”
