Trump finally signs executive order cutting funding to PBS, NPR over alleged bias

Former President Donald Trump has officially signed an executive order to stop government funding for National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).

According to the order, all federal agencies, including the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, must stop sending funds to the two media outlets. It also directs them to find and eliminate any indirect government support for NPR and PBS.

The White House shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), accusing NPR and PBS of using taxpayer money to spread “radical, woke propaganda” under the label of news.

This move comes after Trump suggested last month that he would like to cut off their funding. Reports say NPR and PBS receive around $500 million in public money each year.
