A young man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a generator on Welfare Quarters Street in Makurdi, Benue State. The incident happened early on Tuesday morning, April 29, 2025.

Residents in the area have complained about several cases of generator theft. Many times, they only realized their generators were missing when the power suddenly went off. Thinking the fuel was finished, they would check the spot—only to find the generator gone.

Luckily, this time, local vigilantes were quick to act. A resident shared that the suspect was caught and will be punished properly. However, instead of facing jungle justice, he will go through a legal trial.
