2027: Kebbi gov, Idris clears air on alleged plans to team up with Atiku

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has strongly denied rumors that he plans to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Recently, there were reports suggesting that Governor Idris and four other APC governors might team up with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections. This created a lot of confusion among APC supporters in Kebbi State.

However, Governor Idris, through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, said these rumors are false and made up by “political comedians.” He called the reports “ridiculously malicious” and said he remains fully committed to the APC.

Governor Idris made it clear that he owes his political success to the APC. He said, “I am made in APC, by APC, and for APC. I am not a political prostitute. I will be the last person to leave my strong and trusted party, no matter who is involved.”

Known as Kauran Gwandu, the governor also expressed his full support for President Bola Tinubu and promised to keep working hard for the people of Kebbi State.

He added, “If they tell you again that Kaura is likely to leave his APC, tell them I will be the last man standing.”

Governor Idris ended by saying that the APC is strong in Kebbi State and he has no plans to defect.
