Some women on X (formerly Twitter) are opening up about why they regret marrying young and why they don’t recommend it to other women anymore.
Two women shared that they got married in their early twenties but ended up divorcing before they turned thirty. They explained that they used to support the idea of marrying early, but their views have changed with time and experience.
One woman said she married at 23 years old but is now divorced. She warned that marrying at a young age, especially to someone much older, is not a good idea. She shared, “At 23, I thought I knew everything. Now that I’m almost 27, I realize I knew very little about myself and life back then.”
Another woman shared a similar story. She got married at 22 and is also now divorced. Reflecting on her past, she said, “I turned 28 this year, and I’m not the same person I was at 22. I used to encourage others to marry early, but not anymore. People change, and it’s better to grow and discover yourself without the heavy responsibilities of marriage.”
Their stories show that while early marriage may seem like a good idea at the time, it can be better to wait until you know yourself better before making such a big commitment.
