Russia has picked the famous Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow to host their friendly match against Nigeria’s Super Eagles. The game is set to take place on Friday, June 6, 2025, according to the Russia Football Union (RFU) website.
The last time the Russian national team played at Luzhniki was in a World Cup qualifier against Croatia on September 1, 2021.
This match will be the first time that Russia and Nigeria face each other in an international friendly. After playing Nigeria, Russia will also travel to Minsk to take on Belarus in another friendly on Tuesday, June 10.
Before facing Russia, Nigeria’s Super Eagles will compete in the Unity Cup tournament in London this May. They will play their first match against their longtime rivals, Ghana’s Black Stars, on Wednesday, May 28.
Other teams set to play in the Unity Cup include the Reggae Boys of Jamaica and the Soca Warriors of Trinidad and Tobago.
