In the Musukwani area of Jakara, Kano State, fear and panic have taken over after two young boys mysteriously went missing inside a deep ditch.

The strange event happened on Monday, April 21, 2025. Witnesses say one of the boys removed his clothes and wallet, gave them to people nearby, and then went into the ditch. He never came back. Abdul Basit Yusha’u Safiyanu, who spoke to DAILY POST, said they waited till nightfall and even the next morning, but the boy was nowhere to be found. His clothes and wallet are still with them.

Sadly, this is not the first time. Just days earlier, another boy, Dan Sani, also disappeared after going into the same ditch. His friend, who stayed outside, quickly ran to tell the boy’s family when he didn’t return. Despite searching everywhere, including hospitals and mortuaries, Dan Sani could not be found. His uncle, Musa Hamza, said even fire service officers had a hard time entering and leaving the ditch safely.

The Kano State Fire Service confirmed they got a call for help around 3:55 p.m. and rushed to the scene, but they couldn’t find the missing boys and had to end the search.

Many residents now believe that the ditch could be linked to supernatural powers. People like Sadam Saraki say that area has always been known for strange and spiritual activities.

The Jakara community is begging the Kano State Government and emergency teams to investigate the ditch urgently before more lives are lost. One worried resident said, “People are scared. We can’t sleep peacefully anymore.”

As of now, the two boys are still missing, and the entire neighborhood is left hoping for answers.
