Popular Afrobeats singer Davido has shared how meeting American R&B superstar Chris Brown helped take his music career to the next level.

In a recent interview on the Bagfuel Brigade podcast, Davido talked about how he first connected with Chris Brown back in 2018. He said it all started when one of Chris Brown’s close Nigerian friends called him on FaceTime. During the call, Davido could hear his own song playing in the background. When he asked where the friend was, the friend replied that he was at Chris Brown’s house. To Davido’s surprise, Chris Brown was dancing to his music.

The friend then handed the phone to Chris Brown, and that was the first time Davido spoke with the American singer. A few months later, Davido traveled to the United States and met Chris Brown in person. According to Davido, they instantly became friends, and the connection helped his career grow stronger.

Davido believes that meeting Chris Brown was a life-changing moment for him as an artist.
