Dan Ives, a well-known tech analyst from Wedbush Securities, has asked Elon Musk to step away from his government role and return full-time to managing Tesla. He shared his thoughts in a post on X, saying Tesla needs Musk’s full attention, especially now.
Musk is currently leading a government office called the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), where he works on reducing costs. This role was given to him by President Donald Trump. However, many Tesla investors are unhappy with how Musk is dividing his time between Tesla and the government.
Tesla recently released its first-quarter earnings, and investors are concerned about the company’s direction. Ives said that Tesla and Nvidia are among the most important tech companies right now, but for Tesla to succeed, Musk must focus fully on it. He also suggested Musk should step away from his DOGE role and his interest in Dogecoin.
Tesla is facing tough competition in China, especially from fast-growing local companies like BYD. Earlier this month, Tesla stopped accepting new orders for its Model S and Model X cars in China, showing signs of trouble in that market.
With problems building up in both the US and China, many believe Musk needs to be fully focused on guiding Tesla through these challenges.
