Former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney has shared his top five best players in the Premier League for the 2024/25 season.

As the season nears its end with only five games left, Liverpool are leading the title race ahead of Arsenal. Speaking to Amazon Prime, Rooney picked players who have impressed him the most this season.

In fifth place, Rooney chose Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes. Even though the team has struggled, Rooney praised Fernandes for staying consistent and always delivering solid performances.

Fourth on Rooney’s list is Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White. He said Gibbs-White has had a fantastic season and played a key role for his team.

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer came in third. Rooney admitted that Palmer hasn’t scored as many goals lately, but still sees him as a big influence at Chelsea.

Newcastle’s Alexander Isak took second place. Rooney highlighted Isak’s overall play, goal-scoring ability, and especially his important goal in a final.

Finally, Rooney named Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah as his number one pick. He praised Salah for his excellent form over the years and believes Salah is leading Liverpool’s push for the Premier League title again this season.
