Female tenants abduct four children in Delta

Residents of Ogwashi Uku in Aniocha South, Delta State, are in shock after four children were reportedly kidnapped by three women who had just moved into the area. The incident happened in Umuokwe quarters, where the women had rented a room earlier in the week.

The missing children are:

  • Ebube Nwafido (6 years old)
  • Miracle Nwafido (3 years old) – both are sisters
  • Chimanda (7 years old)
  • Excel, also known as Tinubu (5 years old)

Eyewitnesses said the women lured the kids on Friday by pretending to take them to buy biscuits from a local supermarket. Before that, they had asked a resident, Mrs. Bose Nwafido, for help finding a place to rent. One of the women even used the toilet behind her house, saying she had a stomach problem after drinking Pepsi and zobo.

Mrs. Nwafido explained that the women became friendly with the kids soon after moving in. On Friday morning, she left for a program and told her children to stay in the compound. Around noon, some children returned, saying “aunty” wanted to buy biscuits for them.

When the children didn’t return after some time, the neighbors got worried. They went to check the women’s apartment but found it empty—the women and the children had vanished.

The parents of the missing children, including Mr. Kingsley Nwafido, are heartbroken and in deep shock. The police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the kidnapping and said the investigation is ongoing.
