Adamawa: Boko Haram hit Hong again, destroy facilities, hoist flags

Boko Haram has attacked another village in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State. This time, the attack happened in Dabna village from 10pm Friday to 3am Saturday.

The terrorists came with dangerous weapons and explosives. They burned down houses and properties and even raised their flag in the village, claiming control.

People in the area said that the attackers wanted to reach Garaha, a nearby town just three kilometers away. But they were stopped by the military, police, and local vigilantes.

This latest attack in Dabna happened just three days after another village, Bangah, was also attacked. In that incident, seven people died and many houses and cars were destroyed. Bangah is close to the Sambisa forest in Borno State.

Dr. Raymond Chidama, a well-known resident of Dabna and the state secretary of the APC, said the attacks are becoming too frequent. He added that most people have already run away from the area because they fear more attacks.

Hong LGA has been one of the most affected areas in Adamawa since the Boko Haram crisis began. Other places often attacked include Madagali, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South, Maiha, and Gombi.
