Popular Nigerian comedian, Seyi Law, has made it clear that he will never support Peter Obi’s bid to become Nigeria’s president. In a recent interview on the Teju Babyface podcast, Seyi Law, whose full name is Oluwaseyitan Lawrence Aletile, explained why he strongly opposes the former Labour Party candidate.
According to Seyi Law, the reason is personal. He said members of the Obidient movement—supporters of Peter Obi—attacked his wife and children because he backed President Bola Tinubu in the last election. He believes Peter Obi has failed to control or speak out against his followers’ actions.
Seyi Law shared that while he usually doesn’t stay angry for long, he cannot forgive when his family is attacked. He said that once people cross the line and go after his wife or children, it becomes unforgivable.
“No matter what Peter Obi does, even if he becomes like Jesus Christ, I will never support him,” Seyi Law said. “He denied that his supporters attacked others, and he won’t correct them. That shows he supports what they’re doing.”
Seyi Law also added that any group that doesn’t allow people to think freely is like a cult. He emphasized that everyone should have the right to support whoever they choose without being harassed.
