Native doctor docked for allegedly exhuming dead body

A 42-year-old herbalist named Adepoju Ifaleke was brought before a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Iyaganku, Oyo State, for allegedly digging up a dead body.

The police said the incident happened on April 9 around 6:00 a.m. at the Komu Agate Mining Camp in Iseyin, Oyo State. According to the report, Ifaleke removed bones and hair from the body, which led to his arrest.

He was charged with tampering with a corpse, which goes against the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000. However, he pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The court allowed him to go on bail for N500,000, with two people standing as sureties. The case has been postponed until May 12 for the next hearing.
