Galatasaray’s vice president, İbrahim Hatipoğlu, is hopeful that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen will stay with the Turkish club beyond this season. Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli last September and has had an incredible season, scoring 29 goals and making 5 assists in 33 matches across all competitions.
The 26-year-old forward has a €75 million release clause in his contract and is expected to attract interest from top European clubs this summer. Despite the growing attention from other teams, Hatipoğlu believes Galatasaray can meet all the financial and sporting requirements to keep Osimhen permanently.
In an interview with AS, Hatipoğlu said, “His words don’t mean he’s leaving. He said that even if he left in the worst case, Galatasaray would always be in his heart. But he didn’t say he’s leaving. We want him to stay with us.”
Osimhen has mentioned that he will decide his future at the end of the season.
