Dele Momodu, a former presidential candidate and top member of the opposition party, PDP, has called out President Bola Tinubu and the ruling APC for being careless in their actions.
Speaking on Arise TV, Momodu questioned why the APC is now attacking former President Muhammadu Buhari, who he believes is still their biggest political figure. He said it’s surprising that a president would go after his own predecessor, especially when they are from the same party.
Momodu’s comments came after several visits to Buhari’s home in Kaduna by political leaders. On Friday, APC’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, led party leaders to meet Buhari. Interestingly, this visit came shortly after opposition leaders like Atiku Abubakar, Nasir el-Rufai, Aminu Tambuwal, and Isa Pantami also met with the former president.
Momodu pointed out that APC leaders have now visited Buhari twice in a few weeks, showing that they still need his influence. He believes that instead of attacking Buhari, Tinubu and his team should be working with him.
According to him, these recent moves show that the ruling party may be worried about losing support, especially with Buhari still holding strong political relevance.
