I can’t guarantee safety of anyone visiting Benue without my knowledge – Governor Alia

The Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has made it clear that no one should visit the state without first getting approval. He said he cannot guarantee the safety of any visitor who comes without his knowledge.

In a statement released on Monday, April 14, by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the governor said he is busy with important meetings about urgent state issues and is not expecting any visitors.

He warned that any visit, especially those that might lead to political meetings or public gatherings, must first be approved. Anyone who comes without permission does so at their own risk.

Governor Alia also said that anyone planning to visit Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps must first get written permission from the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA).

The statement ended by asking security officers and the public to stay calm and keep peace in the state.
