President Bola Tinubu has shared his sadness over the death of Pascal Dozie, a respected businessman who founded Diamond Bank and was the first Chairman of MTN Nigeria.
A statement from presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga confirmed that Dozie passed away early Tuesday at the age of 85.
President Tinubu called Dozie a “rare kind of business leader” known for his wisdom, humility, and groundbreaking work in the private sector. He said Dozie helped build a strong foundation that others continue to grow from today.
The President said Nigeria’s private sector has lost a great figure and offered prayers for Dozie’s peaceful rest. He also sent his condolences to Dozie’s wife, children, and extended family.
President Tinubu encouraged Nigerian business leaders to keep Dozie’s legacy alive by staying true to his values of honesty, creativity, and dedication to the country.
