U-20 AFCON: Flying Eagles coach names 35 players for final training in Abuja

The head coach of Nigeria’s U-20 team, Aliyu Zubairu, has announced a list of 35 players for their final training camp in Abuja. This is in preparation for the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The team moved to Abuja on Monday to begin the final phase of their training.

Many of the selected players were part of the team that won the WAFU B U-20 Championship in Togo last year. Key names include Daniel Bameiyi, Ebenezer Harcourt, Adamu Maigari, Kenneth Igbokwe, and Sabiu Mohammed.

Other players called up are Sulaiman Alabi (also known as Jojo), Nasiru Salihu, Oliseh Divine, Bidemi Amole, and Clinton Jephta.

In addition, seven players based in other countries will join the camp.

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are placed in Group B of the U-20 AFCON. They will face strong teams like Egypt, Morocco, and South Africa.

The tournament will kick off in Cairo, Egypt, on April 27.
