Fulham manager Marco Silva had kind words for defender Calvin Bassey after his strong performance against Liverpool.
Fulham beat the Premier League leaders 3-2 in a close match at Craven Cottage on Sunday. Bassey was one of the best players on the pitch.
The 25-year-old defender did a great job keeping Liverpool star Mohamed Salah quiet throughout the game.
Speaking to the BBC, Silva said Bassey has everything needed to become a top-level center-back. However, he also said Bassey needs to be more consistent to reach his full potential.
“Calvin has all the skills to be a top central defender. He ticks all the boxes to be a top, top player. Now he has to be more consistent,” Silva said.
Bassey has played in 29 Premier League games for Fulham this season, showing he is a key part of the team’s defense.
