Nigerian activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, has said that former First Lady, Patience Jonathan, should be in jail. He made this statement after hearing that 15 of her domestic workers have been in prison for over six years.

These workers were accused of stealing jewelry said to be worth more than N750 million from Patience Jonathan. Sowore questioned how she was able to buy such expensive jewelry in the first place.

In a post on his Facebook page, Sowore said it is shocking that people who are accused of stealing public money are the ones arresting others for theft. He added that Nigeria seems to be the only place where this happens.

He called for action to help free the 15 workers, saying it is an unfair case. According to him, Patience Jonathan should be the one behind bars, not them.
