Ligue 1: Simon nominated for best African Player of the Year award

Moses Simon, a winger for Nantes, has been nominated for the Best African Player of the Year award in France. This important award is named after Marc-Vivien Foé, a former Cameroon international footballer.

Simon has been performing exceptionally well for Nantes this season. The 29-year-old Nigerian international has scored seven goals and provided eight assists for his team under manager Antoine Kombouaré.

Simon will aim to follow in the footsteps of previous Nigerian winners, Vincent Enyeama and Victor Osimhen, who both won the award in the past. Enyeama was the first Nigerian to win it during the 2013/14 season, while Osimhen received the honor in the 2019/20 season while playing for Lille.
