President Donald Trump has spoken out against his portrait in Colorado’s State Capitol, calling it “distorted” and unfair.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump blamed Colorado Governor Jared Polis for the portrait, saying it was done on purpose to make him look bad. He said, “Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves, but the one in Colorado, in the State Capitol, was purposefully distorted.”
Trump also pointed out that the same artist painted former President Barack Obama’s portrait, which he believes looks great. He suggested that the artist might have lost her skill over time.
He urged Polis to take down the portrait, adding, “Jared should be ashamed of himself!”
The portrait was put up in August 2019 during an event organized by Colorado Senate Republicans. It was approved by Colorado Republicans and painted by artist Sarah A.
Trump’s complaint has sparked debate, with some agreeing that the portrait looks unflattering, while others believe it is a fair representation.
