Osun APC and PDP Clash Over Transport Unions

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State are at odds again over claims that the PDP is trying to win over transport unions.

The APC accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of desperate tactics to secure a second term.

APC Chairman Tajudeen Lawal alleged that Governor Adeleke is forcing motorcycle and tricycle riders to swear by Ogun, the god of iron, to support the PDP.

Lawal claimed that Adeleke has instructed union members to take a secret oath of loyalty to the PDP across the state.

The APC also accused Adeleke of attempting to reconcile with former PDP members who felt neglected after he won the governorship.

PDP Chairman Sunday Bisi dismissed these allegations, calling them a false smear campaign.

Bisi argued that Governor Adeleke’s good performance in welfare and infrastructure has naturally earned him support from the public and transport sectors.

Bisi also claimed that the APC’s attempts to gain support from transport unions failed, leading them to spread lies.

He added that the APC’s time in power brought suffering to Osun State, and it is ridiculous to think Governor Adeleke needs to force support.

Bisi criticized the APC for trying to cover up their failures and rejection by spreading falsehoods about Adeleke.
