A Nigerian father has spoken out against the overwhelming amount of homework given to children, saying it places a burden on parents. In a video shared on social media, he expressed his frustration, questioning why teachers assign tasks that require parents to assist their kids daily.

According to him, he enrolled his children in school so that teachers could educate them, not so that he would have to continue teaching at home. While he understands that homework is important, he believes that teachers should only give assignments that children can complete on their own.

He added that some homework is so difficult that parents have to search the internet for answers. He urged teachers to rethink their approach and reduce the pressure on parents.

Many parents online have agreed with his statement, saying they also struggle with helping their kids with complex assignments. Some, however, argue that homework helps reinforce what children learn in school.
