South African singer Tyla has made history by winning the World Artiste of the Year award at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards. She defeated big names like Tems, Burna Boy, Central Cee, and YG Marley to claim the title.
The 23-year-old, famous for her global hit “Water,” is the first-ever winner of this newly introduced category. The awards ceremony took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 17, 2025.
Alongside Tyla, other top artistes were recognized at the event. Taylor Swift won Artiste of the Year and received praise for her record-breaking Eras Tour, which was named the Tour of the Century.
Mariah Carey was honored with the iHeartRadio Icon Award, while Lady Gaga received the Innovator Award.
