A huge explosion happened at the Trans-Niger Pipeline in Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State. The incident occurred on Monday night, March 17, along a key pipeline that carries crude oil to the Bonny Terminal.
The blast caused a fire that spread across the affected section of the pipeline. However, the exact cause of the explosion is still unknown.
Authorities are investigating whether the explosion was caused by human interference. Recently, militant groups have threatened to attack oil facilities due to the Federal Government’s decision to withhold Rivers State’s allocation amid the ongoing political crisis.
