They can’t replace him – Tim Sherwood names Chelsea player who has been disrespected

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood believes Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has not been given enough respect for his quality.

Sherwood made this statement after Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League. The Blues have been struggling in Jackson’s absence, as the striker has missed the last eight games due to an injury he picked up in February.

Before his injury, the Senegalese forward had scored nine goals in the league. Despite this, he faced criticism for not being clinical enough in front of goal. Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher even claimed that Jackson was not good enough to lead Chelsea’s attack.

However, Sherwood disagrees, saying that Chelsea cannot replace Jackson because he plays a crucial role in the team.

“I think Nicolas Jackson has definitely been disrespected,” Sherwood told Metro.

“He is the main attacking player and has a strong presence on the pitch. He keeps defenders busy and creates space for players like Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez.”

Sherwood added that although Jackson is not the most prolific goal scorer, his contribution is vital to the team. “He has been a huge miss. He may not score a lot of goals, but he is a real threat, and Chelsea can’t replace him.”

Chelsea will be hoping Jackson recovers soon to help turn their season around.
