More details of the letter of misconduct pro-Wike lawmakers served on Gov Fubara and Deputy

Twenty-six lawmakers in Rivers State, who support former governor Nyesom Wike, have accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, of serious misconduct. They sent a formal notice to Speaker Martin Amaewhule listing various allegations.

The lawmakers claim that Governor Fubara:

  • Spent public funds recklessly and without following the law.
  • Blocked or interfered with the activities of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
  • Appointed people to government positions without proper screening and approval.
  • Withheld salaries and allowances meant for the Assembly and its Clerk, Emeka Amadi.

Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu is also accused of supporting these alleged illegal appointments.

Speaker Amaewhule confirmed receiving the notice and forwarded it to Governor Fubara. He reminded the governor that the allegations were brought by more than one-third of the Assembly members. He also asked Fubara to formally respond to the accusations.

This development adds to the ongoing political tension in Rivers State, with lawmakers loyal to Wike clashing with Governor Fubara’s administration.
